Crossmark Policy

Crossmark Policy

NeuroLingua: Journal of Cognitive, Technological, and Cultural Language Learning fully participates in the Crossmark initiative by Crossref to safeguard the integrity and transparency of the scholarly record. The Crossmark logo on each article indicates that the version displayed is the current version of record. By clicking the logo, readers can view the publication history, including any updates, corrections, or retractions applied after the original publication.

All versions and updates are permanently linked to their respective Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs). This policy ensures that researchers, librarians, and the public can reliably verify the status and authenticity of published works.

Update Types (per Crossref & COPE)

  • Erratum / Corrigendum — factual or typographical corrections that do not alter the main findings.
  • Addendum — additional information that enhances understanding without changing conclusions.
  • Expression of Concern — issued when the reliability of an article is under ethical or data review.
  • Retraction / Withdrawal — applied when findings are invalid, data are unreliable, or ethical/legal breaches are confirmed.

Governance & Transparency

  • Authority: updates are approved by the Editor-in-Chief following COPE Core Practices.
  • Linking: every notice is published as a separate item and linked to the article’s DOI.
  • Discoverability: Crossmark metadata exposes the latest status on the article webpage and PDF.
  • Permanency: previous versions remain accessible with clear labelling; the DOI resolves to the latest version of record.

How to check status: click the Crossmark icon on an article page or inside the PDF to view its current status and complete update history.
